Contreras releases a cello adaptation of the famed Exercises in Various Combinations of Double-Stops by Dr. Roland Vamos. The book was released by the prestigious editorial house Carl Fischer Music. It was reviewed by himself Dr. Vamos and also by Professor Richard Aaron.
Horacio will join the 2017 cello faculty with Wei Yu and guest faculty members Richard Aaron and Anthony Elliott.

The Music Institute of Chicago has appointed Venezuelan cellist Horacio Contreras to the faculty of its Community Music School and Academy programme for gifted pre-college students.
The Venezuelan musician, trained in the ranks of the System of Children and Youth Orchestras of Venezuela, will soon be invited professor at the University of Michigan.
This Thursday, July 2, at 7:30 pm the Symphony Orchestra of Lara, under the leadership of...the soloist participation of the Venezuelan cellist Horacio Contreras, will start the First Latin American Festival of Violoncello Ciudad de Barquisimeto 2015.
